Why do earthquakes occur in places nowhere near earthquake zones or faults in the crust?

As far as I know this problem is not completely solved in science. But don't expeoct earth to be fault free at any place. there are just places which are more or less faulty. Majour cause for earthquake regions are movements in the ground below solid earth. obvious "faults" in earth are more a reaction on these movements, so these are just faults in the earth which become obvious. Imagine some people pushing around a table a lot. Naturally it will get most bruises at he edges. But if it is under pressure very hard, and if there is some fault in the middle, and imagine the table is as thin as paper, (which fits more to the real thickness of solid earth), then you can imagine it will move in the middle too. Also sometimes movements below solid earth start changin - then some new faults in earth become active.
