I have a 2005 avalance has a clicking noise at the front axle on the left side, when going at slower speeds, comming to a stop, going down the drive, etc. This noise does not stop at higher speeds just spinning faster combined with higher out side noise, just not able to hear it.....Chevy has a bulletin on this matter; consisting of a faulty retainer ring on the left axle in the front gear housing,,,replace with correct retainer ring and inspect ring and pinion gear.
