I'm not having problems, but it may have to do with your firewall or some other item blocking the images. It could be a setting in your preferences/options. In Firefox, Tools/Options/Content, make sure "Load Images Automatically" is checked. In Internet Explorer, Tools/Internet Options/Advanced (tab)/Multimedia, make sure "Show Pictures" is checked.

It may be that your temporary internet file is fully. Try emptying your cache.

I'm glad you asked because I was going to. I also have several people that have commented to me that show this in place of their Avatar. I saw your answers from other members but not so sure that they are right. I have firewall protection & not all Avatar's are showing up this way. If you find out please let me know. Thanks,

It has been happening over the past couple of days now, I think its a tech thing not from your computer!

Quite a lot of icons are just showing the word Avatar at the moment. I do not have too many on my list but as i go atound the site i have seen quite a few.

Its happening all over..another AB problem I guess :D
-
yes, it is becoming more common now and no, you can't correct it except refreshing the page!
-
mine are like that sometimes to and usually just refreshing the page works. ;D

When a webpage is attempting to display an image and it can't, for some reason, it displays the "broken icon". The word Avatar is the alternate text for them, so that's why THAT appears. I had a problem with regular images tonight, and refreshing until they all appeared seemed to work. AB knows about this glitch, and I'm sure it's in the list of things they need to fix. ;-)
