Netscape was always a clunky working browser on my Mac computers. I stopped using it years ago because it crashed often just as your question suggests. After experimenting with many browsers (Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.) I found that Mozilla Firefox works best for me. It never quits suddenly, loads slowly, or freezes.

I think that is a scam. Got a similar message myself about a week ago. It said I had performed an illegal download and my internet account would be suspended. Nothing happened. Someone is having fun at your expense I think.

Could you break this down a little better for someone who is computer illiterate? Also, how do I go about upgrading.

It usually means that the program has stepped out of it's memory segment and gets an access violation. Could be a bug, upgrading may resolve it.
