I have tried twice to change my AB avatar. Each time it says that it was updated, but I don't see it changing. How long does it take to change, or am I missing something?

That happened to me yesterday, when I change my guinea pig picture, then I logged of for the night and then when I logged in this morning, lo and behold my newest pig to enter the rescue was there, I do not know why it took so long but it did eventually change. Maybe try logging out and then back in.

It should update immediately. I tried to change my avatar too, and nothing happened. As I'm not really into the logistics of computing, I gave up and decided I must be doing something wrong. I've seen others update their avatars over the past few days, so I don't think there's a bug. Although there was a bug the other day that included a problem with apostrophies and updating the 'About Me' bit of your profile. Maybe the image you're trying to update your current avatar with is too big, or in the wrong format.

When I tried changing mine the changes didn't take effect for several minutes.

It actually does work - after you upload your new avatar, just go to some other page, then go back to your profile. The new avatar should show up there. We will be changing the code soon to auto-refresh the image you see on you profile.
