Help answer this question below.
My answer is in the following music video:
We have it here in the US. It is a television provider. It some how records the programs you want to watch. Tivo records it for you and stores it in its memory, so when you get home from work you can watch it, From what I understand it is confusing, but I am technology challenged I am still trying to figure out my Direct TV system and I have had it for over a year.
TiVo is one of the coolest gadgets ever. It's everything a VCR never was. I honestly can't even imagine having TV and not having a TiVo. It's that good.
I'm one of those people who always seems to get buyer's remorse, but I never for a second had any regrets getting a TiVo (or the second one I bought). And it is so simple to use. It definitely was designed with the techno-phobes in mind.
And for those who gave the answers of it being a television provider and a 'satalite' provider -- please. Do a little homework before tossing out answers that wrong.
I think it's the greatest invention for Television since the VCR. Most people can't operate a VCR for recording or hook up surround sound, or a HD antenna but they can operate a Tivo. Once you used a Tivo versus a cablebox recorder, you will never use anything but a Tivo. It makes television work with anyone's schedule-no matter what hours you work, Tivo is recording you show! No cost for tapes, or recording over a show by accident-plus it can be shared by the computer.
TIVO is the greatest DVR! Once they come out with their high def product, I'm going to get it to hook up to my cable (Comcast, boooo). You can find shows so easily by looking it up by name or putting in names of actors or movies that you like and whenever those actors or movies are on, TIVO automatically records it. I love it!
Tivo is a satalite provider
The greatest invetion peoplekind has ever known! Next to me!! HAHA
its a recorder that you can program to record a show, a movie or a series ... unfortunately it deletes some material after a certain amount of time (don't plan on keeping simpson's episodes very long)
It's not a verb despite how everyone uses the word.
Does anyone know how to make a video's size smaller??
Can anyone tell me the steps or something?

My AVCHD camcorder's video files have filled my hard drive so I can't add more video files. Any suggestions? Should I use DVD-R discs?

Wow, just when I thought it couldn\'t get any better, it did! I\'ve never known anyone to seem so enthusiastic about this kind of stuff! Why\'s it called TiVo? It\'s confusing, we don\'t call it that. You did another great job!

You\'re so funny to watch! Great freakin job!

Great job Lex! Did you just use your laptop? If so, was it hard positioning it?
by oregon on July 25th, 2006
Hehe -- I used my desktop (which has a built in camera), as well as my digital camcorder, which is considerably more transportable than my iMac :)
by Lex Friedman on July 26th, 2006
Okay, it would be hard filming that with just a computer.

Why can't I get it to play?
by smokey888 on August 7th, 2006
Oh, you go to Google not press play, aDaaaa.
Hey, that dude really did well. That took some effort and he made it look so easy, NOT! That wasn't easy, just remembering his made up song would have killed me, .... great job!!!
by smokey888 on August 7th, 2006
Ugh, marks for effort, and a good idea, but if I was someone who actually wanted to know hard facts about how TiVo works (not just 'it records stuff for you on its own') I found that REALLY patronising, not quite something you could use as a reference.
