I was lucky to have my husband there for the deliveries. He didn't take any time off. His theory was that the family was all around anyways so he could go to work and make money PLUS he wouldn't have to deal with family. (smart) I was a stay at home mom for almost 11 years, taking little odd jobs along the way if needed so thankfully, I never had to hurry back to a job.

I didn't have any paid maternity leave so I only took 2 weeks off with my first child. It was not a good decision because I was still healing from a hemmorage when giving birth and I should have been home on bed rest. Yet...bills have to be paid so I went back to work anyway in spite of being in a lot of pain.
