Do you ever use a pencil anymore? Or just pens?

    Keyboard for most writing - but I use pencils in art a lot and pens to jot down lists etc.

    Even when I was in school, I avoided using pencils... I remember my teachers would yell at me for it. I prefer blue ink, if given the choice. :)

    I only use pencils on the rare occasions in which I have to. I only use pens, but can't stand blue ink. I don't know why...

    I have 3 Mechanical pencils and 7 pens within arms reach. I also have two whiteboards and about 30 different dry erase markers on the other side of my desk. I'm a note taking, sketching kind of guy.

    I prefer Mechanical pencils and am always buying them in different syles, if I must use a pen then it must be black fine point only
    as for most all corespondance if at all possible I use the PC and Word as I really hate to hand write any thing if I can get out of it.
    many writeing I do in class, for note takeing and even then if I can will use PC and type and print if I can, as many times I am taking notes for teacher and then printing for class.

    Hard question..

    I used to do technical drawing on a drawing board when I was at technical college a few years ago (and I loved manual drawing!) and my favorite pencil was a simple mechanical pencil. Now I dont get the chance to draw manually anymore (all done on computer) but I bought myself a nice Faber-Castell automatic clutch pencil a while ago, and its great. Wish I had the chance to sketch designs with it more often, but we use computers a lot here :( I bought a nice expensive set of black graphic pencils in different hardnesses a while ago, but I havent had the chance to use them either :(

    I dont mind using pens, but they must be BLACK! I hate blue or green pens. Red is what we use to make handwritten changes to designs if we arent happy with them. Also, I like the needle point black ink pens, not the ballpoint types, because the needle point ones flow better.

    I'm weird when it comes to pens & pencils, but probably just because I'm a designer & they're my tools.
