  • I'm keeping quiet on my own views because this isn't the place, but here are some of the arguments opponents of the Iraqi war offer: a) Al-quieda are not an exclusively Iraqi organisation. The terrorists are not based in a specific country. The London 7/7 bombers were British, Osama Bin Laden is a Saudi national. It is important to remember that what happened on Sep 11 in the US has NOTHING to do with Iraq. The war "against terror" being focused in Iraq doesn't make sense in this context. b) The 7/7 bomb attacks and other terrorist attacks sincethe invasion of Iraq can be viewed as a direct response to the campaign in Iraq by those who oppose it. Innocent people of all nationalities are losing their lives as a direct result of the campaign. c) The Us/Uk invasion has served its stated purpose. Saddam Hussein has been ousted from power. Yes there are still a great many problems. But it is now the time to allow the Iraqi people to decide their own future. Even if the US and/ or UK were to establish complete control of Iraq, there is no connection with that state of affairs and the cessation of world terrorism or the activities of Al-Qu'ieda. The terrorists in question are not affiliated with any specific country, as the varied nationalities of those associated with it show, the threat is global, a war against a specific country cannot solve the problem.
  • Go to google video.com and watch 911 Coverup, the Loose Change 2nd Edition. It's an hour and twenty minutes long so have some popcorn at the ready. If your scared and have fears of terroists ruling the world...your concern is a bit late...they already do. After watching that video, you just may decide to join the opposition. Also refer to google video; "911 Following the Evidence" by Box Cutter Video. I have researched the evidence contained on this video and have found it to be suprisingly accurate in it's accounts, much more so than the loose change edition.
  • President Bush was never truely educated in a classic understanding of the world politics, world culture and world history.while he was educated at ivy league schools, his entitled and priviledged upbringing led him to believe that nothing was really important but his own comminity, way of life and political ideals.Although he is a true patriot and warrior, he is comepletely ignorant of world affairs, the muslim religeon and sound management.these shortcomings are a recipe for extreme disaster which explains the abortion of the project in Iraq. His biggest failure is his lack of executive level management and leadership skills as he was better suited for middle management. Executive level managers hire people with both vision and the competents to carry them out. Bush hired loyalist, cronies and hangerons with a middle managers expectation of getting results and not the ceo's knack for supervising vision. Combine these two major points and what you find is his lack of understanding of the world, led him to defy conventional wisdom, sound logic and history and make the most stupid decision in all of history by invading Iraq.He made the choice based upon feelings and his extreme limited understanding of the region and the world. His cold war mentality of exterminating the enemy with overwhelming force as if they were roaches rather than a post 9-11 approach as he says he has led him to believe Iraq was the place to be. The history of Iraq is such that sectarian violence and distrust amongst the sects has been the hallmark of its entire past and explains why Saddam was so brutal and suspisous of his own people and neigbors. Bush's lack of leadership and management skills explains why he hired Don Rumsfeld to prosecute the war. Bush's thinking was that Rumsfeld was experienced because he was one the main architects of the vietnam war.it was a good idea but the wrong answer as the vietnam war is still one of the most tragic disasters and miscalculations in all of history. The vietnamese never wanted democracy and neither do the Iraq's.Democracy to the Iraq's is simply the freedom to go to a mosque and pray without distraction. Bush W is simply incompetent and has no clue as to how to run a country. Any President who seeks to fight fear with fear by heavily endorsing torture as a policy in dealing with captured terrorist is simply not getting it.Bush is being counceled right now as to how stupid this idea is which explains the compromise in which he recently accepted as a way to end the cia torture bill controversy. Why would you accept a deal/compromise to end the standoff if you say you belieive in what you are doing with so much passion and conviction. The answer lies in Bush's failed policy and ideas from the jump. He is incompetens and incompetency leads to failure and disaster...look all around him and this is what you will find. The last flaw that solidifies his failure is his huge capacity to be horrifying stupid. Ancient Chinese philosophy states and defines stupidity as a lack of flexibility not to be based upon ones i.q level or intellectual talents. Anybody who fails to make adjustments to the elements and terrian can be considered stupid based upon a lack of flexibility which is basically stubborness. therefore, ones stubborness is what makes them stupid.Rather then withdraw the troops from Iraq and redirect them to the true front on the war vs terror, he leaves them there to be waisted and killed in vain without any thought for readjustment. Meanwhile, what seals our doom in Iraq was the executive order in which Bush signed off on that eliminated the Iraqi military and police putting 400,000 men out of work. Then his administration leads the world and this nation to believe that the insurgents are al,quada and forein fighters sneaking across the border to rage terror against the american forces. The insugents are really misplaced and unemployed Iraq's who are making the only living they can by fighting for thr tribal leaders who Bush blackballed and labled as threats to the new government. The tribal leaders were the only hope of bringing the country together but W's lack of education and understanding of world culture led him to blackball the tribal leaders thus forcing these very powerful and influential community leaders to seek there own protection and sirvival. The war cannot be won not based upon failed policy. America is starting to see this and thus you have so much opposition.
  • Terror is an idea. Terror is something that we cannot wage war against and too many people have a hard time understanding this. We can wage war on Iran, Iraq or anyone..but you cannot wage war on an idea..a tactic. That is like saying I wage war on happiness...impossible. As for the war in Iraq...the war is stupid and pointless. It is just America attempting to force our ways onto the rest of the world. I just can't wait till George Bush gets his dumb ass kicked out of office.
  • Well, for one, there are a lot of anti american's in the world. That's just a cold fact, and they're either like that because A) their country is no longer a major power either militarily or economically, B) they don't like our power both economically or militarily, or C) they got beat silly by us either militarilly or economically. Reason i say both things is that some people may think i'm referring exclusively to our military and that i'm one sided (there are people like that in the world *sigh*). Most reasons (not all) can basically be summarized like this: -This war has been horribly, terribly delayed. Heck, it's lasted longer than WW2! -They're anti-american or against anything american (even the christian religion) -They're conspiracy theorists (colbernation.com or .net forums are a great source of these loonies, who are, sometimes, right(not trying to insult ALL of thse people)) -They are afraid of change (applies to non-americans) -They are extremely gullible and immediately gobble up the stuff channels like CNN and FOX or w/e without putting it into context and without comparing this news to other news sources -They're extremely right wing or left wing -ists and don't listen to info that bennifits the opposite side Here is the one reason that i suggest you look at closely: -They understand the reason for the delay in the war. This immensily (sp) benifits (ack, sp) Bush's family business, which involves oil. This also benifits the companies that produce and sell arms to us. Finally, i'd like to comment on your last sentence. any terrrorist stand the chance of an ice cube in hell of ruling the world with either an economic or military power comparable to our own, or, heck, even russia's regional power. Their infastructure simply does not allow for this, maily because of the way the dictators handle theirselves. EDIT: Oh, btw, just because this is a touchy politican matter, i totally support the war in iraq, though with the that last idea in mind.
  • This woman should run for president! Written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one ticked off lady. "Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they? And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?...Well, I don't. I don't care at all. I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11. I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat. I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques. I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs. I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights. In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care. When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care. When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care. When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care. And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care !! If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior! If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add: "Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem." -- Ronald Reagan I have another quote that I would like to add AND.......I hope you forward all this. "If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under." Also by.. Ronald Reagan One last thought for the day: In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America, he said: "A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... And how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ 2. The American G. I. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom. YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM. AMEN!
  • i'm not against the war. just how long it's gone on.
  • Well tell me this: What's the difference between terrorism and an imperialist nation occupying foreign ground without being asked to do so and threatening to raise Hell if forced to leave?
  • If you look at the reason for the invasion of Iraq, and the conditions prior, you would understand. It has come to light that: Iraq had no part in any terrorist plots against the US. terrorist came into the country AFTER the US had destabilized the Iraqi government. whenever there is a void of power, people will try to take over. since Saddam Hussein was a dictator, do you really think he would have shared power with an outside group? Don't beieleve everything they tell you on the news!
  • This is a good question. This war will piss of millions of people for generations. Millions were killed for a different reason. Iraq was attacked for saving the dollar in fact. Saddam made deal with France in sellling oil in Euro. Once this happened Dollar domination will be killed. If Oil started trading in Euro, America will loose the control over world economy. So war is some sort of conspiracy.
  • That's a great question?! Also - why does everyone hate America? Especially Democrats and Europeans. We're trying to kill all the terrorists on Earth which will make everyone safe. Is there anyone who wants to have a terrorist for their neighbor? It doesn't make sense.
  • What we NEED to do is, shovel all of the BULLSH*T about IRAQ and terrorists, and get to the REAL. "The war on terrorism" gave the US, et al, an EXCUSE to invade Iraq, the REAL reason being--OIL!!! If there was no oil in Iraq, would we STILL be there?!
  • I think America should start a few other wars. They should start war against every country which seems to be critical to their policy. Only this way America will get that kind of reputation which they earn to have. Wars are the best method to make other people to your best friends.
