  • For base coat, I use Orly Bonder Base Coat. It is absolutely the best base coat I've ever used. http://www.discountbeautycenter.com/Nail-Care/Nail-Care/Orly-Bonder-Basecoat-16641.htm My favorite top coat is Seche Vite. It dries really fast and looks shiny. http://www.amazon.com/SECHE-VITE-DRY-FAST-COAT/dp/B000O8VFRK/ref=pd_sim_hpc_title_4 Using these 2 coats, I can use pretty much any polish and my manicure will last for about 2 weeks.
  • Best base coat is Jessica Fusion. Best nail polish is Sally Hansen. Best top coat is Liquid Glass. My main goal is NO CHIPS!!! and this is what I rely on. I also reapply the top coat every other day after swiping with some Sea Breeze to eliminate *all* surface oil and dirt. Lotion up about 10 minutes after polishing. Keeps polish from smudging and keeps cuticles soft.
  • As a professional nail technician, I agree 100% with the first answer. Orly makes a great basecoat. Another one of my favorites which works really well is 'Stickey' by Creative Nail Design (now known as simply CND). As for top coats, Seche Vite is really good quality stuff. My next choice would be a topcoat called "Out The Door." That is also a very good quality topcoat.
  • Hi I am from Denmark, and going to New York next week. The polishes you talk about sound fantastic! Can they be bought in stores, or are they only available online? If they can be bought in stores, do you know which stores in NY carrie them? Thanks a lot! Julie
  • What type of base coat are you looking for? I use one that helps my nails grow by Barielle (Growth Activator for Natural Nails). As for a top coat I use a conditioner that has a gloss protection coating to prevent chipping and is a speed dry by Barielle. (No chip speed dry). They have good products and so many since all people's needs are different. http://www.barielle.com/nails
