  • Normal, yes.
  • What comes around goes around - have fun but I wouldn't over do it
  • Yes, people tend to feel detached from others online. They see less risk in acting mean or immature, so they indulge their natural impulse to be mean and immature. That boat sailed for some of us regulars awhile ago, I know many of these people too well to act immature, but most people have lives and friends outside of the site, so they think on some level that they will be able to simply torment strangers here, and then pop back off to their own lives. It's quite a selfish inclination, really.
  • I think in some cases people act more like they ARE on line. The opportunity to be unknown, not face to face, not immediately held accountable, aside from possible really illegal activities...what's the worse that could happen...you act like an ass in a group "setting" people decide you are an ass, and don't interact with you...you change your name and try again...careful to try playing nicer than you did. You still have your R/T friends, you still have your job...no one really knows YOU or where you ARE...of course it probably goes both ways. Some people maybe more "together" on line than they are face to face in the live reality of the world.

  • Sometimes...
  • not normal, but common. lol
  • I would say, yes. Because online a lot of people feel more freedom, and don't feel so pressured to have to act mature/grown up/serious. You can be anyone you want to be online.
