Use clone dvd http://www.clonedvd.net/. It's the easiest (You can find cracked versions all over the net).
However many DVD's have copy protection, you may want to look into cracking prrogs for these, they are also over the net.
10 gigs to be safe, 5-6 should be good, but you want to make sure.
DVD is usually 4.7Gb large, consider having atleast 5Gb HD space.
I prefer to use DVD Decrypt to copy the DVD onto HD and then use AGK to convert it into AVI.
If you have at least 8 or 9 Gigabytes free, you should be fine.
