I love my friends. I am IN love with one of them, and she claims to be in love with me, but also that she can't do a relationship. Strange... Love and In Love - there is a difference. I love my friends because I have a DEEP caring for them. I am in love with one of them... and it's indescribable, but i'll try. It's a feeling in my body that aches for them (you know, that feeling your get in your chest... the butterflies in your stomach). It's that excitement I get when I hear her voice or see her. It's that waking up and falling asleep to the thought of them. I don't have those feelings for just my friends, but I do have them for her.

Platonic love for me is when i love someone but am not in love with them.

I love my son. It would not be quite right to be "in love" with him. I love a friend I was at school with, but I am not in love with him. He is the closest to a brother that I grew up with. I was In Love with a boy at school. It was absolutely not brotherly! I have dear friends, friends I love dearly and would do much for. I am not in love with them.

If you love somebody it means that you care very much about them and feel a lot of affection for them such as a parent has for their children. If you're in love with somebody then it means you have a strong romantic involvement with them and in my case you want to spend the rest of your life with them.

my dad loves me but he's not in love with me... my mom loves me but she's not in love with me... it means they care for you like they would a friend or family member but you dont invoke those intoxicating feelings of falling in love....
