    We used to go on at least 2-3 good long trips. And add a few nice 2-3 day trips too. Then we moved across country and what with family and building the house and weather, we rarely go anymore. We've taken a few days here and there each year and once went on a week long trip, but that's it in over 3-4 years. It's definitely time.

    I always split my vacation time into long weekends. This way I get a break every month or two and attend as many bike rallies as I can. But I do take one week a year to just ride. I'll hop on the bike and just follow the headlamp.

    well, i live centrally located in the united states at a major airline hub. a week-end trip may be leaving the office thursday evening and being back at my desk noon Tuesday. 2 1/2 days off work and in that time i can make a trip to chile, etc. so I try to make a similar trip about every month or six weeks.

    Unfortunately, only about once every two years. I work for myself. The benefits: no boss to hate, kick me around. The detriments: vacations are just another day I don't get paid.
