  • New Zealand. There have been many reports of unidentified sea animals in the deeper areas surrounding the island. There have also been underwater recordings of completely new sounds. Like whale songs which carry across the ocean, there have been a number of strange sounds emanating from the seas around New Zealand that scientists have yet to identify, though they have acknowledged that the sounds were likely animal in nature, and likely not any geographical anomalies. The deep waters around New Zealand also have some of the most bizarre identified sea creatures known today. In fact, if you follow this link: http://www.gennet.org/facts/nessie.html you will see photos and the story of one of the most intriguing catches of our time...the apparent 'corpse of a serpent' caught at a depth of 900 feet by a Japanese trauler off of New Zealand. Many experts feel that the corpse is that of a large shark that has deteriorated over several months, most likely a basking shark, but many others think this may in fact be one of the only discoveries and proof of ancient marine reptiles still existing in our time. Fact or fiction? You be the judge! Check out the link for the info. Also in recent years, there have been a number of credible sightings off the southern california coastline of a 'long necked serpent'. The beast was reportedly sighted at least 3 times by a credible scientist. There have also been numerous accounts of strange sea animals off the coast of southern Australia, many between mainland Australia and Tasmania on the southeast coast. Similarly, many strange reports have occurred up and down the west coast of Australia, and also near the warmer northern waters along the northern coast.
