Thanks to the always fun LiveScience.com for the (non-copied but learned-from) answer... http://www.livescience.com/animalworld/top10_deadliestanimals.html 10. Posion Dart Frog - Their backs and saliva contain deadly neurotoxins... enough in each froggy to kill 10 humans! 9. Cape Buffalo (really?) - They roam in herds of thousands, weigh almost a ton each, and have two quite sharp horns on their big heads. Ouch. 8. Polar Bear - Truly ferocious in the wild. They eat seal cubs for breakfast and if you get in the way of it and its cub, your head is gone with one paw swing. 7. Elephant - They kill (a frankly surprising) 500 people wach year. Weighing in at about 8 tons (16,000 punds) and roaming in herds, a stampeding or tusk-stabbing is all you need to kiss this world goodbye. 6. Crocodile (saw this one coming...) - They lie still and in the wild (even at the zoo) can easily be mistaken for a log or something else. Powerful jaws and bones, and a pension to draw its prey underwater and dismember it makes the Croc somewhat deadly. 5. African Lion - Near perfect hunters. Almost always hungry. Razor sharp claws and teeth. Stockier than Mike Tyson and Mark McGuire post-HGH. You got the point. 4. Great White Shark - 3,000 teeth, blood thirsty; 'nuff said. 3. Australian Box Jellyfish or "Sea Wasp" - With a head the size of a salad bowl, each creature can have 60 tentacles all as long as 15 feet. Then consider each tentacle has up to 5,000 stinging cells with enough toxin to kill 60 humans. Jellyfish at number 3, you betcha'. 2. Asian Cobra - Sure, it's not the most poisonous, but it does the best with what venom it does have. There are, anually, 50,000 deaths from snake bite. The Asian Cobra has the biggest portion of that number. 1. Mosquitoes (yeah, didn't see that coming, either) - They carry Malaria and they itch. Two crappy things. 2,000,000 death per year gives this pest 'top-deadly-dog' honors.

As far as people are concerned, the most deadly animal on earth is another human. The 20th century was humanity's deadliest yet, with two global conflicts that killed tens of millions and hundreds of smaller conflicts. In 1999 alone, there were 40 armed conflicts underway in 36 countries ["Armed Conflicts Report 2000"]. To this carnage can be added the violent crimes that occur all around us. In the US, infants under the age of one are at the most risk from infanticide, usually by members of their own family. The other nine hardy seem to matter at this point.

1. The mosquito. 2. The housefly. 3. The tsetse fly. Don't forget sharks, jellyfish, pirhana, those awful things in the Amazon that swim up body orifices, the sea wasp, killer bees, anything with rabies.... sorry I can't put these in order for you.
-
i read that the animal that kills more humans besides humans is the hippo ( not sure how to spell the whole word )
-
Mankind. We have killed many more of ourselves and other animals than any other animal ever could.
-
Man. No explanation needed.
-
Humans, we've done more to destroy than help.
-
I'll go against the flow here and say mosquitoes. They are extremely deadly to people as well as other animals. It's because they can carry a lot of different diseases. Diseases like malaria an heart worms.
-
since humans has already been taken ill say chupacabras

Viruses. I am not certain that they fall under "animal" but I think they do. If so, think about the influenza virus that has killed millions, bubonic plague, Ebola, HIV, etc. By the dictionary definition, using the part about a virus being a simple microorganism, a virus is an animal: ------------------ Main Entry: 1an·i·mal Pronunciation: 'a-n&-m&l Function: noun 1 : any of a kingdom (Animalia) of living things including many-celled organisms and often many of the single-celled ones (as protozoans) -------------- Main Entry: vi·rus Pronunciation: 'vI-r&s Function: noun 2 b : any of a large group of submicroscopic infective agents that are regarded either as extremely simple microorganisms or as extremely complex molecules, -------------- If you are going to exclude viruses, then I would say that Homo Sapiens is the most deadly animal on this planet. Mankind has already obliterated unknown numbers of other species, reproduces without any control, uses up its resources, and is destroying every habitat it lives in. Since we live all over the world, guess what that habitat is. Now, some human societies manage to live in harmony with the land but they are the minority.

Man..or humans..the reason for the answer is pretty obvious..look around...arent we doing a great job of being lethal.
-
Man kind. I saw this in an e-mail I got once "Man is the only animal who's very existance is a problem he has to solve."
-
Snakes... with certain snakes there venom is powerful enough to kill you in less than a half an hour...plus there venom is natural not man made like guns and knifes...
-
comeon people, think outside the box....no more human stuff plz! and gamergirl u were the first to bring it up, but plz dont post anymore on snakes either-its been mentioned! ;)
-
The sinister blue-faced flying monkey of course!
-
now now everyone, dont rate my question....
-
I think the deadliest animal on Earth is the human. We have destroyed so many habitats. We are literally destroying the Earth. We are very dangerous.

A box jellyfish. One of these can kill you in 15 seconds. Ive seen a TV program documentary where they put some box venom in a vial of human blood, and set the stopwatch. within 5 seconds the blood had congealed. Box venom in your bloodstream within 5 seconds will seize up your circulation, ensuing a rapid death. Other possibility is an elephant. If they stampede they can kill you out right. Skarks and crocodiles as well can kill you outright. It depends if the question means the animal that kills fastest, or the most people.

Their backs ooze a slimy neurotoxin that is meant to keep predators away. Each frog produces enough of the toxin to kill 10 humans. This frog can not kill you just by touch. If you have a cut on your hand or if you touch one and then put you hand in your mouth, well then thats a whole different story. #9- Cape Buffalo- When faced with a predator, cape Buffalo's charge head on. That’s 1,500 pounds of beast topped off with two big, sharp horns. You’re lucky if there’s only one – the real danger comes when a herd of thousands stampedes in your direction. They have few natural predators other then humans. Known as one of the big five in Africa, The cape buffalo can be a vilatile and formidable beast, goring, trampling and killing several people a year. #8- Polar Bear-Sure they might look cute at the zoo, but in the wild they eat ringed seals for breakfast. They will eat just about anything they can kill. Get between one and its cub and it could easily rip off your head with one swipe of its giant paw. #7- Elephant-Not every elephant is as friendly as Dumbo. Elephants kill more than 500 people a year worldwide. African elephants generally weigh in around 16,000 pounds – all the better to stomp you with – not to mention their sharp tusks. #6- Australian Saltwater Crocodile-sadly Australian saltwater crocodiles have been responsible for several fatal accidents in recent years, though it needs to be said that in all cases the accident was due to wrong behavior by the victim. It takes a crocodile 30 years to reach maximum size. #5-African lion-These animals average around 450 pounds. African lions have excellent eyesight, good hearing and sense of smell. They also have very quick reflexes. #4- Great White Shark-Blood in the water can excite these sharks into a feeding frenzy, where they’ll use all 3,000 of their teeth to bite anything that moves. They can get as large as 20ft and weighing in at 4,400 pound © 2008 Associated Content, Inc.
