This isn't the best forum for giving help with virus removal. I recommend you go to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com and ask your question on their forums. They'll tell you to download several programs in order to assist in the diagnosis and removal of all harmful programs on your computer.

The red Trojan. He is like a thief in the night. He starts when you download certain sites. Once in your system, his hunger increases and he will slowly devour your computer and shut it off. Happened to me. had over 800 viruses at one time. I took my computer tower way out in the woods and shot it to death. I then went to the computer store and bought a new one/ This time, i installed Norton Anit Virus FIRST. All is now well with my computer. Sometimes, you have to learn a lesson the hard way. I did and so will you. Killing the Trojan was not possible for me. I tried everything.

removeing is destroying, that is the way program works. will heal only on low risk if possible and usually does that on its own, but you can always try. research shows this trojan is med-high risk and should be destroyed to restore PC, you take chance that this virus will be backup some where and just will come back. it is also suggested that you run AVG anti spyware in safemode as it get rid of mal-ware and this virus is part mal-ware, AVG virus doesn't do mal-ware only AVG anti spyware does. to get to safemode F8 at startup, must have program already install and should have updates in place, run once with internet off and again with it on. hope this helps

I've got TROJAN HORSE GENERIC 10.XQ - through the same sort of messenger message. I have AVG anti virus and it picks up the following: c:windowssytem32pmnnn.dll "" "" "" gebyx.dll "" "" "" ddcyy.dll " " " pmnlm.dll It puts them in the virus vault but they cannot be healed. It also puts in the following which I have located several times in my temp internet files and deleted but they keep coming back: C:ducumentsandsettingsstuartlocalsettingstemporaryinternetfilescontent.IE56D63DBURCSS4[1] plus the same as above but 6MDJPOG3CSS4[1] Any ideas how to delete this nasty trojan? However I'm told it works for the MSN messenger generic virus - NOT FOR VISTA though: Posted - 25 Mar 2008 : 16:41:54 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you already have the virus and you are running any windows operating system apart from Vista you can get rid of it by Simply following these instructions: 1. Close Messenger. This will simply stop any of your contacts getting the virus. 2. Goto 'Start' then 'Run' and type 'msconfig'. A new window should appear. 3. Click on the tab at the top right that says 'Startup'. 4. Untick the box next to 'MSN Messenger'. 5. Click 'ok' and when it asks if you want to restart your computer say no. 6. Press 'Ctr' + 'Alt' + 'Del'. Find the file that says 'MsgSpread' and click End Task. The virus has now been deactivated! To remove it fully follow these instructions: 1. Goto the Desktop and open My Documents. 2. Double click on 'Messenger Service Received Files'. If you dont see a folder called that then goto 'My Computer' then goto 'C' then 'Program Files' and finally 'Messenger Service Received Files'. 3. You should now see a file called 'PIC1234(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1).exe'. 4. Click on it ONCE and press 'Delete'. This should delete the file. 5. Empty your Recylce Bin. try downloading avg antivirus and malwarebytes run them one at a time and they will clean your pc dont run both programs at once otherwise they will conflict with each other

Stu i dont think my virus has come through messenger, beacuse when i went to msconfig, to unlick the messnger box, it was already unclicked, an in my recieved files i have no "'PIC1234(1)(1)(1)(1)(1)(1 )(1)(1).exe'" im really worried as it has already taken all the files off of one of the profiles on my computer, will there be anyway to get them back aswell?
