  • You should wait 'til it's out of your system, completely. like 12-24 hours. Mixing any alcohol with it can be really bad (as you probably know, which is why you're asking) and can make the Xanax react differently in your system then when you take it alone.
  • Depends on the person and stuff like how much that person weighs. 1mg of Xanax drank with a cup of whiskey will hardly phase me. But you could expect that however you normally feel after 1mg of xanax will become stronger the more you drink.
  • Hi, I just spoke with my doctore regarding this same subject. He said that taking xanax and drinking alcohol together in any amount is deadly. And every time I do it I'm risking my life... his main consern is respatory failure. I was told that if I want to continue taking xanax he advises I cut out alcohol completely. And if I absolutely have to, wait at least 24 hours after my last .25 dose and dont take any for 24 hours after drinking... but I would still be at risk. Although I dont like this answer any more then you... the risk is there including liver problems if you do both together and/or regularly take both. Hope this helps some.
  • I proudly swallow and sometimes "chew" xanax for a more profound effect alongside a glass of wine. I told my doctor the honest answer when he asked how he I took my xanax. He barely flinched before advising, "just don't become an alcoholic." I am very satisfied with his advice. If I'm taking xanax in the first place, I'm already having a little problem with "life" as it is; I'm sure as hell not giving up my wine!
  • It's best to avoid alcohol when taking any kind of medicine. I'd advise taking it after 24 hours, but it's best if you just avoid alcohol COMPLETELY. Regards Johana C http://www.xanax2mg.com
