You will have to get in contact with the people that you purchase the chip from. They usually include instructions. Opening up your PS2 is not for the soft-hearted. You may also need to solder, though there are some mod-chips that do not require this. Good luck.

go to dominican republic and then go to sesars video club and they will just put a mod chip in the playstation just for $1,600 pesos or $60 us dollars

As yet, I've not seen a good reason to do a hard mod on a PS/2. The only "usefull" mod I've found is pretty much a softmod. Purchase a new hard drive, and a network adapter for a PS/2 (FAT of course), and purchase/acquire a copy of HDxtreme, copy ALL your games to the hard drive, badda bing, play all your games directly from the hard drive, put your disks away for safe storage. Or, if you don't even want to deal with network/hard drive controller for the PS/2, buy a USB drive, using the HDxtreme and basically, do the same thing.
