i've lived there for 14 years well, it depends on which part you'll be living in, Negatives:lots of judgmental people, i hate how there's the poor ones, and the rich ones, not many middle class. possitives: lots of fun places to spend ur time in, kind people, and always help is available. things u have to be aware of: make sure ur money is IN ur pocket, it'd be great if u have an arabic person that u fully trust that can speak the language to buy you stuff, its a lot cheaper this way ;)

I went to Amman in December 2007. It was awesome! Luckily, I had my fiance' who is a native Jordanian to show me around. But, we originally flew to Egypt & then went to Jordan. Honestly, I can tell you I felt much safer in Jordan & it felt more like home with the driving & how King Abdullah keeps his country beautiful! Best of Luck to you!

Best of luck to you. I don't hear any bad things about it so I think you will be safe there and happy. After all it is the capital city so it has got to have the most amenities. http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Middle_East/Jordan/Amman-1800107/Tourist_Traps-Amman-BR-1.html Can you tell me how it's going there becasue I'm curious to know how that city is?

My father is from Karak Jordan, which isn't too far from Amman. (I've been there too). I'm full blown American, but I've actually lived in Jordan for a few months. I just recently went back during the summer to visit some family. BE PREPARED FOR SOME CULUTRE SHOCK! The people there are very hospitable and very nice to Americans. As a reccommendation, don't go anywhere outside of Amman or Karak.
