  • I love staying at a B&B it is much more relaxing.
  • I'd have to agree with you on this one..and a big Welcome to AB, LDP! Glad you're here...
  • That's how I traveled in Italy. Other than Rome, we stayed about a 30 minute train ride away from the city we were visiting. It was awesome. We got to enjoy the Tuscan region that way.
  • Only if I have a bullet-proof way of getting there and back without issues to do with languages and labrynthine public transport. I have travelled by local bus in many cities and cultures with all kinds of alphabets, and it was fun when I was young and not trying to get from A to B by a deadline.
  • I am definitely a city girl!!! I lived in NYC for a few years and loved it!!!!!
  • I've done both and found when I'm out in the country, I stay there. On the other hand, while visiting Bangkok, we stayed 5 days in the city, and that was 3 days tooooo long. So...can I start in the city and then travel to the country side?
  • I have found that commuting in other countries is usually not a good idea and my time is better spent elsewhere other than in a car or public transporation.
  • I love a Bed and Breakfast in a small town, especially by the ocean. It would be fun commuuting, you get to see more of the countryside!
  • Since I live in a relatively small town when I travel on business I like to say in a downtown hotel. I do a little research before-hand and find a hotel near some of the interesting venues in that city. For example on recent trips to Denver I have stayed near and enjoyed the '16th Street Mall' and the surrounding attractions. In Oklahoma City I was able to walk to 'Bricktown'. It's nice to have something to do in the evenings after work and since I do not live in a metoropolitan city it's new and interesting.
