  • if its in another state and you have a valid plate from another car that you are going to transfer it to the new car you could put that one on it to drive it home. you would have to have the seller sign off of the title and when you get back to your state take it to a notory and sign where you have to and send it out to get the title done in the state where you live. but if you drive with out a plate and you get caught you can get into alot of trouble.
  • Yes, but don't get caught.
  • Any vehicle on any public road must be registered, insured, and driven by a licensed driver. You can buy a 'temp tag', aka temporary insurance. It's a piece of paper you stick in the window(s). They normally come in 1, 3, 7, 10, and 21 day terms. Some places let you get it for whatever number of days you wish. Cheaper than full insurance, temporary, and you are 100% legal. Just make sure you get a term long enough for you to drive the car home. Cheers.
  • In the state of Michigan you can legally drive a newly purchased used vehicle from point of purchase directly to your home with no plate. You do need to have insurance on the vehicle.
  • Make sure you have your bill of sale on you.
