I had a bad experience with skiing down a wooded area, so I would say strait down on a steep slope is the best way to go!
I do pretty much everything in skiing. i race, jumps (park), downhill, sometimes crosscountry but not my favorite. I love just to free ski and make my own jumps in some good areas, but you get the point. I go to jacksonhole every year with some friends, then we go down to alta. We do back country at jacksonhole we dont do the resort, and we do the same with alta sometimes.
Downhill is nice because there is little work to it. Cross country skiing is also nice and interesting to do. It takes a bit of effort though. I don't do any tricks. Just a nice glide to the bottom (if everything goes as planned).
Is skiing on manufactured snow as pleasurable as skiing on the real deal? Any difference in feel or is the experience the same?

You're reading I just went skiing for the first time in several years. Do you ski? Downhill or cross-country? Do you enjoy jumps, the paths in the woods, going straight down, or doing tricks?
