  • Normal procedure would be to first disconnect the battery... VERY IMPORTANT! Next, losen the pulley so you can remove the sepentine belt. Unbolt and remove the alternator. There will be a wire attached for electrical. Unhook it and it is out. Then do the opposite to put in the new one. You will need a pry bar to get the pulley back where it needs to be to get the belt back on. Don't forget how the belt goes. This is normal procedure for most vehicles. You can normally go to a parts store and pick up a book for $20.00 or so that shows you how to do almost everything on your vehicle.
