Help answer this question below.

I have a 1998 24v Mercury Sable speedometer went to zero and the RPM went real high, the OD light was blinking and the service engine soon light came on.Also sometimes the power steering is not the same when turning.This all happen

I think it it could be your transmission and its electronic sensors. Take your car to a transmission shop and hook up an analyzer to the ECM for the transmission. It also can be related to the Vehicle Speed Sensor. This sensor feeds to the ECM and if defective will disable the electronic Overdrive.

2004 Trailblazer with 23000 miles. The service engine soon and reduced engine power lights came on. It did have reduced power. I stopped and checked gas cap. Reduced light went off and power seemed normal. Any ideas, warranty just expired.

Have a 1993 Mercury Sable 3.8 engine that will only start if the check engine light comes on when key is turned. It won't do a thing if the light doesn't flicker when turning the key. Same thing when using ether. Have replaced the starter.
