I would suggest that you take your Cocker Spaniel back to your veternarian and inform him or her that the antibiotics don't seem to be working.
It is always sound advice to take your pet to the vet; whenever, something is clearly wrong with him or her as you have already done and should continue to do so because like people it's imperative that we take care of our pets because by taking them to the vet they're much more likely to live longer, more productive and healthier lives.
Bottom line: I'd take your pet back to the vet and kindly inform him or her that the anti-biotics don't seem to be working and you would like to know what steps to follow next.
My 10 year-old cocker spaniel is as graceful as an albatross! That is to say, he is just exceedingly clumsy. He falls off beds, walks into walls, etc. I know some cockers have this trait.
Has your vet checked to see if your spaniel's ears just need to be cleaned? They get a lot of wax buildup in there.
Has your vet checked your dog's eyes to see if there is a vision problem?
Is there anything that could be environmental causing the problem, i.e., you're painting in your house and there are fumes? I know that's a stretch, but sometimes we forget that things like that impact dogs too.
I strongly urge you to return to your Vet and have your dog checked out again. Since dogs can't talk, it's hard sometimes to diagnose them. Good luck!

You're reading My 2 year-old cocker spaniel has severe loss of balance on a weekly basis. He can't walk without stumbling into something. The Vet said he has an ear infection, but the antibiotics didn't help. Any other ideas?
