Help answer this question below.

My Win98SE machine uses a cable modem, but it keeps disconnecting after 8 minutes. Rebooting re-establishes the connection, but only for another 8 minutes. What could be wrong?

    You might have your IDLE TIME setting set to low, you might find it:

    Settings>Control Panel>System>Device Manager>Network or Modem or some such and if it's there increase the time to 20 or 30 minutes ..

    Your being bumped off the internet super highway because your connection speed cannot compete with the latest technology. Upgrade to cable or DSL.
