I could be wrong. But i am pretty sure a Bar is just a Bar and a Pub is a place like a bar but its like food inside too

They are often dimly lit, dark. A pub or "public house" is a place for drinking and food, the whole family, a gathering place. There is a bar but mostly tables and booths for large groups of people. It's brighter and happier.
