Help! My sims 2 game keeps freezing or won't start up at all. It will let me play for about 5 minutes or just freeze right away when i start it up.

First, make sure your computer meets at least the minimum requirements. Second, make sure you kill all unnecessary background tasks by doing the following:

[1] kill/disable your anti-virus and/or crash guard programs
[2] hold down control + shift + esc, that will bring up the task manager.
[3] click the processes tab
[4] click user name column
[5] kill all processes under the user name EXCEPT taskmgr & explorer. do NOT select system, local or network services. Click yes if you receive a warning message will doing this.

Third, make sure your sound and video drivers are updated

Also might want to check with EA Games tech support site for additional help and information

do you have many expansion packs?
you may have to re-install
