  • Have you ever defragmented your PC? Have you done a disk cleanup?
  • compress stuff? not so sure on that 1 get a new ram card that always help, maybe even a new processer, Hard Drive memory doesn't really effect speed of your computer
  • yes i've defrag'd and done disk cleanups.
  • right now, 100% only because im running a disk cleanup. but usually it's bouncing back and forth from 30 - 60%
  • Compressing files on your PC will not make it run faster. A tune up usually consists of things like uninstalling unused software, analyzing and modifying what software starts with Windows, analyzing what processes are running and a regimen of scanning for errors, defragmentation and registry cleaning.
  • To compress stuff, you can use a program like 7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.org/). It won't speed things up, though, unless you're practically out of hard disk space.
  • Run disc clean up and then do a disc defrag on your PC. You will find both programs in your system tools. Be sure to disable your screensaver first before running the disc defrag, it will take some time to complete.
