Why can't i see the profiles of everyone in my network on Facebook?

Some people's privacy settings are set so that only their friends, or only people on certain networks can access their profiles. For example, only people on my college's network and my friends can access my profile. People from my 'home area' network cannot.

Thanks for the response, but I think my question was a little unclear... I should have asked "why can't i see the profiles of anyone in my network?" Do you think it is my age? I'm only 16...
