Question

Help answer this question below.

I am using Windows XP Microsoft Office Word 2003. When I use the shift key to make a capital letter is doesn't always work that way. It always works with the first word in a sentence, but not when trying to use it throughout a sentence.

This happens all of the time with the auto-correct feature on. You simply go back after typing the word (and then pressing space to get the feature to pick up the word and correct it), select the first letter and put the capital in its place. Since you are making a "correction" to the document, word will leave it alone, as opposed to 'fixing' it for you while you type it the first time.

As Anonymous says, it's probably Word's auto correct feature. Just press Control + z on the keyboard (Undo) immediately it happens.

It could be that autocorrect is "fixing" the words that it doesn't recognize as proper nouns.
