Help answer this question below.
This is simply my opinion, largely unsupported by anything but my personal observations and encounters. I think Wicca is a way of explaining the universe and our role in it. The focus on being in tune with nature and aware of its power is a worthy one, and this is the area in which I think Wicca exerts a positive influence. I think Wicca is attractive to some people because it is outside the box, but those who truly make it their life usually share the same values I do personally - integrity, honor, respect for other people and their ideas, valuing all life, recognizing the preciousness of the moment, respecting the natural course of events, cycles and patterns. I do not think Wiccans are any more or less prone to evil acts than any other person or group.
I prefer tradional furniture in my sunroom. Wicca has to painted every couple years, and it kinda squeaks when you sit on it.
Odd question.
Generally from what I know of Wicca I have a lot of respect for it as a religion- it seems to be very understanding and flexible to the needs of individuals- it doesn't require that members worship in a specific way, and doesn't seem quite as dogmatic as a lot of other religions. There seems to be a lot of acceptance of diversity- I notice in the Wicca section of this site, for example, that there is a lot of mutual respect despite differences in practice and belief, which isn't quite as notable in the sections for the other religions. They also generally seem to be more willing to live in harmony alongside other religions than most. In some ways I'm not sure it is really a religion since it seems to be so open to personal interpretation. As far as I can see the whole concept of the Goddess in Wicca is what a lot of people see as Mother Nature, or just the spiritual element of the universe. It just seems a different, more symbolic way of describing it.
I have a lot of respect for the common sense non-dogmatic approach to morality they seem to have, the fact that there are no commandments or pillars or scriptures that lay down ultimate value judgements, but its based on respect for the self the earth and for others.
I think they have a bit of a hard time too, with people who think they worship the devil and commit human sacrifice and lord only knows what else. Probably because the truth is that its slightly more down to earth and mundane than that.
Its not for me, I'm not a Wiccan, frankly I'm too lazy to commit myself to a specific belief system or religious practice- I'm too much of a practical person to mess around with goddesses and spells and Sabbats and whatnot, but a lot of what they believe I pretty much agree with.
I respect my wife's religion, and have actually taken part in a couple of circles.
Well, we never hear about someone killing in the name of Wicca, or starting wars in the name of Wicca, so that makes it quite fine, in my opinion.
Even though I am an atheist with no real liking for religon, I will say that Wicca is a very beautiful religion.
MY OPINION is simple: Its better than Christianity... Perhaps even better that (GASP) Atheism...
Wicca is just another superstition like any other cultish belief.
I think the airtime it gets on Answerbag is disproportionate to the average user's interest. Paintball guns and unidentified medication also.
I was wiccan for 2 years actually. I'm not any longer, but I was. I'm not against or for it.
It's not of God and it destroys lives.

Let me elaborate on this statement above. I'm a victim of wicca or witchcraft practices. In the last four years or so, there have been many strange, unexplainable, and non-coincidental events that have happened. Over the years, I've seen some of the same patterns of events happening. I've even done research to find out how some of the practices can effect individuals. I'll share an example of what I'm talking about in regards to a relative of mine. During the latter part of 2004, a relative of mine had a nervous breakdown. Normally, you'd think these things happen gradually, but not so in this case. It happen all of a sudden. Observing her behavior, it seemed as if she had been possessed or as if some wicked spirit had tried to take over her mind.
I literally just found out (in depth) about it today. I have a friend that told me he was Wiccan so my Wiccan friend, my Mormon friend, and I (a devout Christian, yo!!) were talking about our religions and aside from my close minded Mormon pal, everything that wicca stands for actually makes sense. It was very logical, and supposedly the oldest religion?? I could be wrong...
I think its very interesting. Antigonerising gave me several websites on the subject. I could have read for hours.
I love it so much you wouldn't believe.
It's a load of new age rubbish.
Yes it works only when you believe it dos. You have to be serios.
I do not think i know enough about it on a personal level to make an imformed judgement
Some individuals have use it to interfere in other's personal lives.
I think it's like any other religion. I don't love or hate it. Its just there.
Is was okay when I was younger, but stuff like Nortunal Witchcraft/Lunar Stuff attract me more.
To be honest, I dont know what that is.
You can make some great looking baskets out of it.
Oh, sorry. That's Wicker...
As a born-again, Bible-believing Christian, I believe that Wicca is a false religion and of Satan.
Thank you and may God bless you. :)
