Cut your workout time to three days a week for much better results. Cutting down to three days a week, will allow your body to recuperate for two days straight, giving you more time to grow. Exercising this way, you'll be able to go to your gym or fitness center for the rest of your life.

That really depends on how much exercise you do every day. There are one exercise a day routines that you can do every single day and be hard pressed to ever need a layoff, while a long high intensity workout three or four times a week might leave you needing a layoff after 3 weeks.

Usually about every 12 weeks is a good average. But for most people unexpected things happen, and they take an unexpected layoff. I have gone over a year without a scheduled layoff before because of life events causing unscheduled layoffs.
