  • Break his arm. Krav Maga comes in handy sometimes...
  • Get right back out!
  • This is a hard question,....I would probably do whatever they tell me to do.
  • run, and scream "holy shit, help!!!"
  • Decorate my pants , open the door and scarper.
  • If I can hit the gas and get away I'd do that, if it seems like there is no safe way out of it, I give him what his asking for, and take a good look at him, so I could describe him to police,I would probably follow him after he left.
  • Pull out my gun and say "Are you SURE?"
  • In Montana they would generally be shot. There are no laws regarding the carrying of firearms in a motor vehicle in the state of Montana and more than likely anyone driving in this state is armed.
  • Do I have a bigger knife?
  • Homeless man charged with Cortlandt rape; Car found in Beacon By Rob Ryser and Robert Marchant CORTLANDT — A homeless, jobless, convicted rapist accused of kidnapping and sexually abusing a woman he targeted in a supermarket parking lot Tuesday is being held without bail on three felony charges. Detective work that included a police dog sniffing out the suspect's scent in the victim's abandoned car in Beacon and a phone tip led police to Richard Brown, 48, whose last address was in Yonkers. Cited by police as having a lengthy arrest record that includes convictions on drug and burglary charges, Brown was designated a Level 3 sexual offender based on a 1981 first-degree rape conviction, an attack which involved a knife. “It was a case a lot like this one,” said Senior Investigator Bruce Cuccia of the Cortlandt state police barracks. “He was charged with kidnapping and rape.” Brown's latest alleged victim was picking up a few groceries shortly after 9:15 p.m. Tuesday at the A&P on Route 9A. After unlocking her car to load the groceries and returning the shopping cart to the shelter, she got into her car to find the suspect jumping in from the passenger’s side and threatening her with a knife, police said. He drove her to Garrison where he sexually abused her and left her at Graymoor, home of the Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Atonement. The woman made contact with a security guard at Graymoor off Route 9 at about 11 p.m. Tuesday, spokeswoman Heather Fullerton said. The guard called 911, reaching the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, and stayed with her until a deputy arrived. “As to why he chose Graymoor, we cannot speculate or explain,” Fullerton said. Citing privacy regulations for patients undergoing treatment, she said Graymoor would not comment on whether Brown was a client at St. Christopher's Inn, a residential shelter and substance abuse treatment center. She said the woman was found at Graymoor's Spiritual Life Center. A break for investigators came at about 4 p.m. Wednesday, when Beacon police found the victim's abandoned car. A state police dog from the Poughkeepsie barracks was able to pick up the suspect's scent in the car and follow it to a building. After interviews, detectives learned the suspect's name and his probable whereabouts. Cuccia would not be more specific. A caller tipped police that Brown was back in the Cortlandt area Thursday. Police went to the home of Brown's friend at Springvale Apartments off Springvale Road near the A&P. “He was hiding behind a dresser in the bedroom,” Cuccia said of the suspect. Brown was charged at 7:45 p.m. with first-degree robbery, second-degree kidnapping and first-degree criminal sex act, all felonies, police said. He was arraigned Friday in Cortlandt Town Court and is due back March 14. Cuccia said the victim, who lives in Cortlandt, expressed relief upon learning of Brown's arrest.
  • At this point, the perpetrator's purpose is to frighten you into cooperating with his demands. Also at this point, he most likely wants you alive. In all likelihood, the perpetrator wants to take you from the shopping area where there are potential witnesses (crime scene 1) to a secluded place (crime scene 2). He wants to leave crime scene 1 as quietly as possible without drawing attention. If he succeeds in his plan and gets you to crime scene 2, your chances of survival are greatly diminished. Accordingly, you should do everything in your power to prevent yourself from being taken to crime scene 2.
  • DebraG gave a great scenario and time line, I have also heard from experts on TV that if you go to the second site you are dead so do EVERYTHING you can before that happens. The expert said to drive your car as fast you can into something, a pole, another car, anything that will cause a scene possibly other car alarms will sound off when you hit them. Hopefully he struck his head or at least caught him of guard. Now use this chance to escape and run. As Sheriff Raff said, you can get sown up. But dead is dead.
  • I'd get right back out and yell and scream my head off. I've always heard that even though they tell you to be quiet or they'll hurt you, making a fuss generally makes them go away. I generally lock my doors right away anyway. Hubby got me in that habit.
  • What I would do, and what I would advise my wife to do are two ENTIRELY DIFFERENT things ! I would advise her to open the door and run like hell while screaming her head off attracting attention the whole time. She carries pepper spray too and would use it! If some crazy b@stard is going to cut or stab you, it's better to be cut right then and there while escaping. At least you may get medical help and survive. If they ever get you away from there in a vehicle, you ARE dead meat ! In my case, I'd do my very best to stop him by using whatever amount of force was neccesary. Who knows? He could very well even be killed wih his own knife or he could even wind up being shot to death! ;-)
  • I would give him anything he wanted. I dont want to get hurt or killed in the process of a mugging. I would totally oblige to anything he asked for
  • Look at them and do nothing, hold your nerve if you can.
  • I'd get out of my car. Assuming the assailant would also exit the car, I'd fake a run away from the car. If the ass. bought the fake, then I'd get back into the car, immediately lock all the doors (I have centralized locking), and drive away. If the ass didn't buy the fake, I'd run a few yards, set the car alarm, and continue my escape.
  • offer them a tic tac if that doesnt work go for a bit of sexytime ;)
  • I'd chuck the keys out of the door, if the person persisted in threatening despite him not being able to take the car, I'd take the knife off him & pierce his jaw with it!
  • Floor the gas pedal. Hes gonna get more than he expected. If I'm going to lose the car anyway, Id rather wreck it than give it away.
