Since I don't live in the US, I have no opinion about Wal-mart. But your second half assumes a great deal. You can hate something without saying it should not exist. The free- enterprise system is the most successful yet invented - but it is not pearly white perfection. Even the best system in the world can have a downside, and to those who hate it, Wal-mart is the downside of capitalism. Just as you can hate road deaths without hating cars, you can hate Wal-mart without hating the free-enterprise system.

The prices are what attract customers. What many people do not know, is that the merchandise is often of inferior quality, even items with a reputable name. This is done by the brands' licencing the name and subcontracting the manufacture to another company. I have heard that the reason Wal-Mart's customer service is poor is because it is trying to do too much.
