Question

Help answer this question below.

Do you think we should have the ability to "bump to top of list" questions? I know we can do this now by adding a dummy answer to the question, but it sometimes would be useful to bring it back to the top to get more answers if it wasn't getting before.

Everyone would want to do the same with their questions! So the more the questions would come again at the top, the less time they would stay there, being pushed by all other questions.

If you really would like an answer, you can:
    - point at your question with a link in a comment or an answer
    - point at your question in a question:(more people will read it, but links don't work in questions. And don't do this too often.
    - answer your question yourself (please no more than once, and better would be after a time)
    - ask the question again, in a modified form (so as not to make a duplicate)
    - last but not least, ask yourself if you *really* need an answer for this question and if other Answerbagger could be right by not being interested to answer it. Or maybe it is too difficult or too specific.

I actually pondered this for a moment the other day. I think it should just be brought back and still keep the same homepage with new questions coming first, but then have an option to click on unanswered questions like you said

No I do not, there are people that do that by Downrating other peoples answers as well as answering their own to get it round again..

If it was allowed everyone would be doing it and it would cause a block on new questions getting to the home page.

No... Individuals should not be able to "bump" their own questions to the top of the list.

I can see a way others could (without answering), but there would DEFINITELY need to be a limit placed on this, much more stringently than the questions, answers, or ratings limits. Otherwise, friends of a user could "bump" them all to the top, and basically "take over" the home page.

In other words, maybe a couple of "bumps" per a given user's questions - no matter WHO, but the user, "bumped" them - a week would work?
