Find a picture of the kind of dog you want to draw, and see what the dog really looks like; the shape of it's head, nose, ears, mouth and so forth. Try to follow the same basic lines that the dog really has, unless you want to do a cartoon.
The Walter Foster 'how to' books are very good for beginners, and there are some specific ones that show just how to draw certain animals or how to do coat patterns. Most libraries and craft shops carry books like this.
Drawing a dog isn't really very different from drawing anything else - or is it the fur that you need help with? Please let me know what specific problems you are having and I'll do my best to help you.

Well, I would say draw it carefully it just might bite. smiling.. there are a few site on the web that will help you. depending on how serious you want it to be... after you get the idea, get personal with it. Let it become your own creation, your own species of dog... most of all have fun with it.. the above site is a neat one. smiling.
