  • Read the link about intact permits. http://www.cahealthypets.com/archive-pdf/pet-fight.pdf Good Luck!
  • You can move to some place without such a law.
  • Usually a ban means higher licensing fees for those who want to keep their pet unaltered. This means you will probably be okay if you're willing to pay the fee. While being a responsible pet owner is good, it is still not as effective in reducing the pet overpopulation problem as is neutering your pet. No one can be absolutely certain their dog (or cat for that matter) will not slip away for a moment and mate with a stray or neighbor. Millions of strays are euthanized every year because there are simply too many being born in the first place. If you truly love dogs, get your dogs spayed/neutered. Good luck and thank you to everyone who spays/neuters their dogs and cats!
  • The cheapest way to get around the law is to buy the breeder permit. That will exempt them from the law.
  • there ins nothing you can do.
  • I don't know of anything you can actually do about it besides starting a petition against that law. Maybe they won't put that law into effect if enough people are against it. I don't think the government should have the right to pass a law like that. I love animals so I don't like the idea of all of the animals that get euthanized, but I think it is wrong to make people do that or pay a fee. I have a very healthy Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix that my family was wanting puppies from, but there was a guy in my neighborhood that hated dogs and he was killing them by throwing rotten meat into peoples yards or he would take them from peoples yards and drop them off at the animal shelter. My dog was taken to the shelter by him and by the time we got to the shelter they had already had him neutered. We were very mad because they had an anonymous drop where you could take in your dogs and drop them off without any forms that prove they are your dogs, but there was nothing we could do because of a law that said all animals that are taken to the shelter must be neutered/spayed, and now we'll never get puppies from him.
  • Go to this site and contact the Federation or Allied group for your state: http://www.akc.org/canine_legislation/federations.cfm Become involved BEFORE it happens. We are fighting Breed-Specific Legislation where I live and it's a tough uphill battle.
  • Vote against it, have other pet owners vote against it. Have them picket the mayors office if it passes. Bomb buildings, trucks and everything. Wipe them off the face of the earth!! Just kidding, but I'd just keep informed and also get "Involved" as to the laws and such. Now here's the other side: Dogs will (If not secured) wander. This emans there's bigger chance the dog will: 1. Get to a female (Or the other way around) 2. Bite someone (Some people you'd just want to punch, well, your dog would recognize that by biting) If it's a child, then you're out $$$$$$ 3. The dog could be hit. (Worst scenario is it suffered greatly before dying) So, there's good reasons to leash (Contain) your pet. Proper treatment is also biblical. "See how one treats the lesser in his house? He shall do the same to his kinsman"
  • The REASON for such laws are that there are way TOO MANY stray and loose dogs running around .. and going to the animal shelters and having to be destroyed ... This law trys to thin out the overpopulation of dogs so we don't have to KILL so many of them that end up on the streets etc .. unloved or uncared for ...
