  • Your BMI is 28.3 You are not obese. BMI Categories: Underweight = <18.5 Normal weight = 18.5-24.9 Overweight = 25-29.9 Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
  • your weight might be considered a bit hight based on your height... but that does not mean obese...Obese is basically when you are grossly out of shape and facing medical probs as a result. If you are in shape... you should be good.. talk to a professional and see what your ideal weight should be based on your height and weight.
  • I think you are slightly overweight. You should probably aim to be around 110 - 120. But you are not unhealthy as far as your weight. But like you said if you are muscular than 150 could very well be justified.
  • well, it depends. if you are indeed muscular, 150 might be just fine for you. BMI is kind of limited in this way because it doesn't determine how much of your weight is fat and how much is muscle. you should aim for a body fat percentage of between 18% and 32%. that's a little more accurate. i mean, if you're 150 lbs but your body fat percentage is within that range, then you're just fine. you know? ask your doctor to perform a body fat test on you if you're concerned. i do know that my mom is only an inch taller than you and 10 lbs heavier, but she actually looks fine because a lot of her weight is muscle as well, and her body distributes the fat she DOES have in a way that looks nice. it could be the same for you. :)
  • It all depends on your body fat ratio, if its under twenty then you aren't obese
  • A picture is worth 1,000 words. "obese" is a strong word tho....I seriously doubt you'd be obese at 150 given you've described yourself as muscular. The real question is do YOU think you weigh too much. If so, do something about it. If not, accept and embrace yourself as you are and periodically re-evaluate to make sure you're still happy w/ your physique.
  • Well, for starters, that would not be considered obese even if you were not muscular. But since you are muscular, that weight could be about right. It's hard to say without seeing a picture.
  • I mean if your working out (muscular and all) then no your deffinatly NOT obese, your at a good weight i think (personally). So I wouldn't sweat it so much just keep workin out nothin' wrong with that :)
  • No sweetheart, you are not. Look up the word Obese in the dictionary. *Not being smug... you really should so that you have a difinitive, literal answer.
  • I would have to see a photo of you. I am 5'6 and weight 180 lbs. It really depends on where you weight falls on your body.
  • if you are concerned about your health, you need to consult with a doctor, not a bunch of strangers on the computer. if you are just concerned with appearances, then only you can actually answer that. if you are concerned about fitness, then you should go out and time yourself in the mile...should be under 6 minutes.
  • Your BMI would put you near the obese category, but BMI has the same limitations as the height-weight charts released in the 1950's, in that they do not distinguish between fat and muscle. When Gov. Schwarzenegger was at his peak, he weighed enough to be considered obese, but we know he was extremely muscular.
  • If you are muscular then your weight might be appropriate. If I didn't know you were muscular, I might say it's on the higher side, but everyone's body frame and muscle to fat ratio is different. My mother weighed less than me when she was my age (by about 30 lbs.) but she wore the same size as me...so it's hard to say. How can 2 people with a 30 pound difference (and she's 1 or 2 inches taller) wear the same size? Easy - I have a bigger, more muscular frame than her. You could ask a doctor or nutritionist or fitness trainer at the gym.
  • umm well im 5'10 and weigh 140 and i need to lose weight so...........
  • Honestly, No. You're probably just a mesomorph (muscular) body type like I am. I'm 5'2" and 145 lbs (Admittedly been lax about exercise recently so my body fat probably is higher than it was before)and I still wear a size 6. I've met people who were a few inches taller and 10 lbs lighter yet wore much larger size like 10, 12 or up.
  • I am 5'2" and doc said my weight should be 120 but i weigh 150 idon't think i am obese I am just thick :)
  • Nah, just "big boned".. Have you been boned by any big bones lately? Yes, I know...rude.. I can't help myself sometimes. :)
  • Oh no, not at all, I love a nice short thick girl, post a pic so we can see.
