The exact count of his children is not given in the Bible. Here is what we do know. Refererence: in 1 Chronicles, chapter 3, David had sons by various wives and concubines; their names are not given in Chronicles. By Bathsheba, his sons were: Shimea,Shobab,Nathan and Solomon His sons by other mothers included: Ibhar, Elishama,Eliphelet,Nogah,Nepheg,Japhia Elishama (again),Eliada, Eliphelet (again) David also had at least one daughter, Tamar, the full sister of Absalom. The named children in the Bible total 14.

His son by Abigail was Chileab or Daniel: 2 Samuel 3:3 and 1 Chronicles 3:1. The most important thing of the lineage is the Davidic line to Christ(son of David) and that was through Solomon, Bathsheba's son. 6 sons were born to him in Hebron where he reigned for 7 1/2 years. then he moved to Jerusalem and reigned another 33 years and had 4 sons by Bathsheba. and 9 others while in Jerusalem. it does not include in 1 Chron. the sons of his concubines..but he also had a daughter Tamar.. 19 named sons =6, while in Hebron.Amnon,Daniel,Absalom,Adonijah, Shephatiah,Ithream. 4, while in Jerusalem by Bathsheba. Shimea, Shobab, Nathan,Solomon. 9 , others while in Jerusalem. Ibhar, Elishama, Eliphelet, Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, Elishama, Eliada, Eliphelet. no sons of concubines included.

Do read 1 Cr 3: 1 - 9 David had six sons while living in Hebron. They were born of six different wives. In Jerusalem were David reigned for 33 years David had 12 children, 4 of them were born of Bathsheba. The Bible also mentions Tamar David's daughter. There was also his children by his concubines which were not mentioned.
