  • Front end processes deal with the customer, take orders and process the material handling to make product for shipping. Rear end process are post production things like shipping, delivery, warrantee claims and billing.
  • The process of handling information and business commodities are usually broke down in THREE sections. Front end is where the orders and customers needs are recorded and inputted. This is usually in general terms but not necessary. The middle is where the needs are defined according to departments and the allocation of responsibility is sent to different departments. The back end is where the needs are met, where the solution is built and where the final outcome is created, this solution then travels back to the front end for the customer to have access to the information or solution. So the difference is that front end is the acceptance of the users needs and information and the back end is the section that does the work to fulfill the needs of the user or customer. In programming the GUI is the front end and the underlying calculations is the back-end.
  • It is easy to understand just what the difference is between Front End and Back End processes if you look at them as the actual business. Take your average business. The front end processes are much like the lobby or sales floor of your business. This is where the interaction with the customers happen. Orders are taken, questions are answered, and complaints (hopefully not) are processed. The back end is like the typical back room. It contains all the processes that run behind the scenes. Things such as inventory, information management, and sometimes warrantee management, depending on the business.
  • In an office environment the front-end part of it stands in customer service. Customer service is very crucial to a business. A business depends on its external customers to be able to survive in the business world. Having the right personnel in the front-end part of the business is very important. Appearance is one of the key points in business personnel. Now, it all depends on what kind of business is it? It can be a restaurant, a bank, and church, to name a few. The presentation of the appearance of the personnel is a big key point to a successful business. People tend to judge on what kind of business it is by giving either a good presentation or a bad one. The best advertising out there that has been proven to work is by word of mouth. If a business is giving bad customer service and a bad attitude, that company or business is going to fail, unless the business does not deal with customers, in which it is very doubtful. Every company or business needs customers and depends on its customers to survive.
