  • Because God is unprovable by any objective standard of evidence, and since no one will ever know until we die, we can only speculate, until our time comes.
  • Im not because there is no higher power.
  • I'm not agnostic. I'm an atheist. But being an atheist doesn't mean I think that it's utterly impossible that there's a god, just highly unlikely. There is no evidence or proof that a god exists, so there is no logical reason for me to believe that one does.
  • I used to be agnostic, but I now identify as an atheist, because in my opinion, agnosticism is too forgiving of the antiquated non-sense that is preached by organized religions, and it unfairly places the burden of proof on onesself, instead of where it should be - on those who make the outrageous claim.
  • I'm not. I prefer to not even say I'm atheist because that gives weight to theism. Similarly I'm not atoothfairyist, if you get my drift. But for the sake on convenience I accept the label. Why? Because there is no evidence to support the notion of God... or any god.
  • Since I don't believe in gods, I'm an atheist. The problem with agnosticism is what 23Skidoo mentioned: all non-existent beings, because they are not in our frame of knowable reality, are unknowable (insert "Duh" here.). Its a rendundant position, really. It's like saying, "X doesn't appear real because we have no proof that it exists, so we can't judge whether it does or doesn't exist." This is closely related to the "Just prove gods don't exist!" argument. Agnostics consider the existence of the unknowable just as valid as the existence of the knowable --- except when dealing with matters that aren't god-related. I find it peculiar. As a child in America I was told by virtually everyone in society that the all-loving, slow-to-anger, I AM WHO I AM was real and he'd send you to hell if you didn't do what he wanted. And I guess it's just a coincidence that agnostics just happen to treat this one single unknowable idea with more respect than fairies? Umm, no I don't think it's a coincidence.
  • because "I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED IN" and that HE is able!
  • The way I see it is that I am (technically) agnostic. I do not know with 100% certainty that there is no god. However, the liklihood is so small, that it doesn't make much sense saying that I'm an agnostic because the general perception is that agnostics sit on a 50/50 fence. I see it more like a 99.99/.01 fence. Therefore, while I am technically agnostic, I am a de facto atheist.
  • I just can't decide!
  • Not because I believe in more than just something out there. I respect the people who are agnostic when they are sincere.
  • If we do not use the title "GOD" with all the atributes that are atached to the title, and simply use the terminalagy "Cause of the universe" there remains no more argument of existance, leaving only atributes in question. If we look at the universe and see its wonder, we may be more willing to bow our knee. Throw away the books. Do not consider the testomony of man, just behold the wonder of the universe and admiration should overcome us all.
  • I'm not even sure that I'm agnostic...Does it coun't if you belive that people are the gods....i'm not catholic becuase I went to a catholic school as a kid and I found out that most people were mean to one another...I was harrased alot in school...the last prayer I asked for was the strength to fight a mob of older students who were picking on me...I ended up fighting them and hurting them all within 10 minutes...mabye God answered my prayer...but I didn't feel the same after that ... and I got worse after I went to a lutheren university and I was harrased by a group of christains, a two police offercers, the dean and some other non-christains on campus...after that I just wanted to be left alone.
