Help answer this question below.

I think the ego is the reason for most of the trouble people have, it is why we feel insulted, hurt, cheated, embarrassed, have low self esteem, poor self image, etc. etc. How much ego do we need to survive and why should we be so sensitive?

    I suppose how much depends on how 'enlighted" we are..

    A Buddhist viewpoint:

    "In the case of people without insight into the nature of consciousness, the mental activity is in the center of consciousness. Every thought creates a new center, a new identification which is the ego -- there is nothing else there. We cannot talk about “one” ego but rather about a flow of conscious or semi-conscious events, being capable of operating in a relatively integrated way. This is the function of the ego."

    Remember a cell as its penatrated it immediately starts dividing growing developing as DNA provideds all from two people this cell with recieve information from with in and after birth enviorment how the parents treat each other does another teacher walk this earth or a madman 1933-1944? That precious cell to the grave needs all the sanity as parents can give our prison system is full of damaged souls from failed parenting.
