Im not sure wat kinda truck you have but on the 88-98 chevy trucks the knock senor controls the idle and make it idle down.
One possibility is checking that the throttle plates aren't catching or getting hung up on the carberatour base gasket. Open the choke and look down the bore with a flashlight to see if the plates are stuck open.
Maybe your vacuum advance is stuck or a vacuum hose is missing or leaking.. they used to call it a Choke.
Can you use fiberglass on an intake manifold?
