Question

Help answer this question below.

My son said I was a "Diva".. I looked up the word.."distinguished female singer"..that's what it means..nothing negative. How many times do you discover that you've used or thought of a word whose meaning was totally different than what you thought?

Schmuck... it now means someone who is a jerk or something but all it really means in Yiddish is the little piece of foreskin left after circumcision.

The popular interpretation of diva is a difficult,

I once told a friend that I found her egregiously talented, in reference to her artistic savant. She thought I asked her out. And egregious itself means something else entirely.

"Gay" means happy. "Faggot" means a bundle of firewood. Dictionary definitions aren't necessarily the street meanings anymore.
Among kids, "Diva" usually refers to the prima-donna, demanding, whining type of woman. And your son is wrong, luv. Happy Saturday!
