They're both works of fiction.

They both created life but Frankenstein did a better job with his creation than Fictitious Being did with her's. ;)

If you want to go with your catholic teachers, you might want to say that Frankenstein's creation of life was doomed to failure, because only God creates life. If humans tried, it would be pretentious. Maybe you could claim that Shelley's Frankenstein is a metaphor of human pretentiousness.
