Can I get into trouble if I'm 26 and my girlfriend is 16 in michigan?

    The age of consent is 16 unless you are in a position of authority. You cannot be charged with statutory rape (i.e., Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 3rd degree). That said, there may be some other less severe charges the parents could file on you, depending on how vindictive they are. Contributing to the deliquency of a minor, for instance. That isn't likely, but it's enough of a possibility that you don't want to go head to head with the parents.

    If you are friends with a 16 year old, that's fine, but if you are "friends" with one, um, you are doing something illegal.

    Im not familiar with Michigan law, but if you keep "it" out of her, and her parents dont mind. I dont think there will be a issue. It's when you go past 2nd base usually is where the issue lies
