Help answer this question below.
I don't. If the pressure persisted I will have a panic attack. No bullshit.
I keep my breathing the same as prior to the "pressure", no one knows. I tackle tasks at hand with finesse then get in my car and scream.
I just do it. If you are under pressure, you don't have time to think or do ANYTHING not geared towards making the situation better.
Afterwards, I collapse, of course. And want my Arisztid to make it all better. :P
The key to staying calm under pressure is recognizing the anger and panic that onsets when you come under stress. For instance, if someone is yelling at me to perform a certain task, instead of responding with fighting anger, I think about it in my head, and stay calm and cool.
I really believe that the key to staying calm in pressure is not letting your emotions enter the situation. Keep strong concentration and train your attention to what is at hand.
For instance, if I were in an aircraft that was in serious trouble, this is the situation where staying calm under pressure really plays out. As a pilot, if I were faced with major mechanical failures or other emergency issues, the key is not to stress out with emotions over the situation. Conciously telling yourself to stay relaxed and work on the problem at hand really works well. Instead of thinking, "oh no we could crash, oh shit the engines are on fire.... the rudder system is malfunctioning..." work on the real issue - how can I combat this problem to safely make the landing? It's a time to revert to training.
So in summary, before you react, think of the calmest and coolest person you know, and pretend you are them. Think of yourself being accused of being angry and uncontrollable, and realize that here's an opportunity to come off completely relaxed, cool, and absolutely calm.
laugh :)
I focus on my breathing.
I inhale slowly and steadily and I exhale the same way.
If I'm in my usual hurry to get somewhere on time I try to do that as I'm getting ready to leave.
I have anxiety issues also, so first off I take my medication as soon as I feel the pressure. Which calms me down enough to allow me to think rational thoughts and what the best way would be to handle the situation instead of freaking out, because that solves nothing. Deep breathing exercises to make sure my body is getting enough oxygen to function properly is the number one. And then I try to rationalize and focus on the task at hand. One step at a time.
I exercise , dance and get on with the details having something to concentrate on helps me stay calm.
I keep in mind that no matter how bad things might be they can always be worse.

NO NO i CAN'T IT IS TO MUCH HAAAAAAAAA TO MUCH PRESSURE
I ask myself what this present situation will mean in a 100 years. OR , if it is presure put on me because of what someone else will think of me, I tell myself that they all shit just like I do.
dont try to make things better than they are. yake what ever you have and use ut to its greatest advantage. also, dont try to hurry, if you hurry, you'll make mistake and delay yourself more. stay calm, take it slow.
realize the situation at hand wont kill me so ill be ok.

I have to thank Seinfeld for that.
Just tell myself it isn't a choice to panic. I know under most or all circumstances, if you panic under pressure everything will fall to pieces.
