Poe is awesome. The Raven and Telltale Heart are two of the best. Cask of Amontillado is another great one along with a host of others. He was supposedly a fan of absinthe which is a hallucinogenic alcoholic beverage. Some believe that helped him come up with his detailed stories. It may have also contributed to he death, though all of his records are missing or destroyed.
